CUET and BUET to host green architecture conference on 4–5 December
A two-day international conference, the 3rd International Conference on Green Architecture (ICGrA 2025), jointly organised by the Department of Architecture at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and the Green Architecture Cell of the Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), will be held on 4–5 December 2025.
Ahead of the event, a press briefing was held today at 1.30pm in the jury room of CUET's Department of Architecture. Conference Secretary and Head of the Department of Architecture at CUET, Professor Dr Sajal Chowdhury, read out the written statement. Conference Co-Chair and Associate Professor of Architecture at CUET, Kanu Kumar Das, was present, along with Associate Professor Sajib Pal, Assistant Professor Dr Nusrat Jannat and Saeeda Tahmina Tasnim.
The conference will bring together leading academics, scholars and researchers from countries including Australia, the United States and the Netherlands. Two keynote speakers will attend. A total of 16 technical sessions will take place, along with a poster exhibition, a joint international PhD research seminar and five parallel workshops on environmental architecture. Six PhD research projects from different countries will be presented.
Of the 150 papers submitted, more than 80 will be presented across 16 sessions over two days, while over 40 posters will be showcased. A two-day architectural project exhibition will also be held at the department.
The event is supported by sponsors including Nippon Paint, BSRM, Seven Rings Cement, DBL, Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited (BIFFL), Stela Luxury Sanitary Ware, Techno Art Software and Nestlé.
The inaugural ceremony will be held on 4 December at 10am at CUET's central auditorium. CUET Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya, has kindly consented to attend as chief guest. BUET Professor Dr Md Ashiqur Rahman Jowarder will serve as conference chair, Associate Professor Kanu Kumar Das as co-chair and Professor Dr Sajal Chowdhury as conference secretary.
