BKash, City Bank launch pay later for mobile recharge
BKash customers can now instantly recharge up to Tk1,000 to any mobile number—regardless of their bKash account balance—using the new "Pay Later" facility.
The facility, launched in partnership with City Bank, allows users to repay the amount within seven days interest-free. This joint initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted mobile connectivity and added convenience, particularly during emergencies.
Eligible users may recharge between Tk100 and Tk1,000 to any mobile operator, subject to a processing fee. Both prepaid and postpaid subscribers can purchase internet packs, minutes, bundles, and talk time.
The approved Pay Later limit may be utilised in a single transaction or across multiple top-ups. Customers can access the service irrespective of their existing bKash account balance.
To use the feature, customers should select 'Mobile Recharge' on the bKash app, enter a mobile number and the desired amount (Tk100–Tk1,000), and choose the 'Pay Later' option at checkout. After reviewing the payment details, users can confirm the transaction to complete the recharge.
Repayments are automatically deducted from the customer's bKash balance within seven days. Users may repay early if they wish. Failure to settle within the period will incur a delay interest, as per terms and conditions.
bKash said the addition of Pay Later to its mobile recharge service is expected to enhance user convenience and promote wider adoption of cashless, digital transactions.
