Asia Pharma Expo, Asia Lab Expo to return to Dhaka
Asia Pharma Expo 2026 and Asia Lab Expo 2026, South Asia's flagship exhibitions for pharmaceutical manufacturing technology, will take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BCFEC) in Purbachal, Dhaka, from 29 to 31 March 2026.
Organised by the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), the expos build on a 23-year legacy of driving innovation, collaboration and industrial growth in Bangladesh's dynamic pharmaceutical sector.
The 2026 edition is set to feature over 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, presenting technologies spanning pharmaceutical processing, packaging, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients, analytical and laboratory instruments, cleanroom and HVAC systems, water management and turnkey project services.
The exhibition will be formally inaugurated at 10:00am on 29 March at the Inauguration Hall, BCFEC.
The opening ceremony will gather industry leaders, senior representatives of the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, government officials and international delegates to mark the 17th edition of what organisers call South Asia's most focused pharmaceutical manufacturing trade event.
Following the inauguration, the exhibition halls will remain open to trade visitors throughout the three-day event, providing a platform for sourcing, networking, technology assessment and business development.
After the 2025 edition drew 14,500 trade visitors, organisers said the upcoming event aims to further boost international engagement and accelerate technology transfer within Bangladesh's pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.
Asia Pharma Expo 2026, a leading B2B platform in South Asia, offers global suppliers opportunities to connect with pharmaceutical manufacturers, investors and project developers seeking to expand production capacity and adopt advanced technologies.
Since 2003, Asia Pharma Expo and Asia Lab Expo have showcased the full pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chain, enabling entrepreneurs, R&D professionals and corporate decision-makers to explore machinery, raw materials, packaging solutions and laboratory technologies.
Over the years, the exhibitions have supported technological advancement and industrial modernisation, contributing to Bangladesh's transformation from an import-dependent market to a growing exporter of generic medicines.
Bangladesh's pharmaceutical sector remains a significant contributor to the national economy and exports. Organisers note that the industry now meets 98% of domestic demand and exports to 157 countries, including the US, UK, Germany and Canada.
The market, valued at over USD 3.5 billion, is projected to surpass USD 6 billion by 2026, with annual growth of 15–18%.
Organisers added that government initiatives—such as the API Industrial Park—are expanding local API production and reducing import dependence, supporting the longer-term goal of API self-sufficiency by 2032.
