Barishal University hosts first national business case competition

Barishal University (BU) stands on the threshold of its first national-level business case competition, "Battle of Stage 2.0," organised by Barishal University Business Club (BUBC). The high-profile event gathers top student minds from different Bangladeshi universities to work on genuine business problems and develop their analytical competencies, problem-solving abilities, and presentation techniques.

BUBC officially launched Battle of Stage 2.0 utilising a Facebook event on Monday, February 10, which generated enthusiasm among future business leaders. The competition will begin on February 20, 2025, when the first-round case will start at 11:59 PM and continue through the week ending on February 26. The strategic partner Marico Bangladesh has planned an exclusive case-cracking workshop for 8:00 PM on February 20. Any undergraduate student from Bangladesh can participate in one to three individual teams at any university. The registration period will continue until 11:58 PM on February 20, 2025.

The competition consists of three active phases.

In the preliminary round, each team is given a business problem to solve, followed by a deadline for solution submission.

During the semi-final stage, the selected teams must execute online presentations through Zoom or Google Meet.

The Grand Finale will welcome the leading teams from previous rounds to examine fresh case material, after which they must display their solutions to honoured panel judges.

The event includes an exclusive session of expert-themed case-solving workshops to deliver business case analysis and strategic direction to participants. A unique virtual webinar presentation will be conducted exclusively for participants to offer critical knowledge and directions that boost their readiness for competitive excellence.

A robust set of prizes extends to victors in this competition. Champion: BDT 15,000 in cash. 1st Runner-up: BDT 10,000 in cash. 2nd Runner-up: BDT 5,000 in cash. Additional Perks: Certificates, trophies, and media coverage in national outlets.

Riyad Mahmud, Joint General Secretary of BUBC, shared his enthusiasm, stating:

"Battle of Stage 2.0 functions beyond competition status as it creates a transformative platform for talented youth who will demonstrate their concepts while testing themselves to create new business paths."

Mahmudul Hasan Miraj, President of BUBC, emphasised the significance of this milestone, saying:

"While this is the second edition of 'Battle of Stage,' it marks our first national-level business case competition. Following the overwhelming response to our 2023 edition, we have expanded this event to a much larger scale. In the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, problem-solving and critical thinking were among the most vital skills needed to stay ahead in today's job market. Battle of Stage 2.0 allows students to develop and test these skills on a national stage."

The title sponsor, Bio-Xin Cosmeceuticals, facilitates the competition, with key strategic support from Marico Bangladesh, the e-learning platform Lead Academy, the knowledge partner Gonomot, and several other corporate partners. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, offering students real-world business exposure like never before.

With its unique approach to business case-solving, "Battle of Stage 2.0" is set to become a game-changer in Bangladesh's business competition landscape. Get ready to witness the future leaders of the corporate world take centre stage.
