Atomic Energy Commission officers’ association holds AGM in Kuakata
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Officers' Association was held on Friday, 9 January, 2026, at the conference hall of Parjatan Holiday Complex and Youth Inn motel in Kuakata.
The meeting began with a welcome address delivered by the association's president Md. Serajul Arefeen. As he recently went on final retirement , he formally handed over the responsibility of the presidency to Senior Vice-President Md. Golam Mahbub in the presence of the general members, appointing him to preside over the AGM.
At the AGM, General Secretary ATM Golam Kibria presented the general secretary's report, while Finance Secretary Md. Masud Rana Mondol placed the financial report before the members. Reports of the constitution amendment sub-committee were presented by S M Nijamul Islam, while Member Secretary Mr. Maruf Hossen highlighted the rationale behind the proposed amendments.
With the presence of more than two-thirds of the association's members, several important proposals, including amendments to the association's constitution, were discussed and approved unanimously.
This was the first time the association organised its annual general meeting outside Dhaka. In addition to physical participation, members were also given the opportunity to join the meeting virtually.
More than 75 percent of the association's members took part in the AGM held in Kuakata. Among those present were Vice-President Mr Mahmud Hosen, Joint Secretary Mohammad Shamsudduha, Cultural Secretary Munshi Maksud Rana, and executive committee members Md Abu Taher, Md Muzaffor Ali Miah, Md Ajibor Rahman Molla, Md Shmsul Islam, Md Solaiman Mia, and Rozina Parvin.
Following the AGM, a cultural programme was organised for the association members and their family members. The programme featured performances by the local cultural organisation Kuakata Shilpigosthi, creating a vibrant and engaging conclusion to the event.
