Bank Asia hands over solar-powered irrigation system to farmers in Rangpur
Bank Asia has set up a modern two-tier solar-powered irrigation project in Pirgacha, Rangpur, to support marginal farmers with a reliable water supply for agriculture as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (RDA), Bogura.
The project was officially handed over to the local Farmers' Association on 26 November. Dr A K M Oli Ullah, Director General (Additional Secretary) of RDA, Bogura, attended the event as chief guest. Bank Asia Assistant Vice-President Rashed Mahmud and RDA Director Ferdous Khan were present as special guests. The programme was presided over by M A Hamid, Head of the bank's Rangpur Branch.
