Bangladesh Bank launches customer awareness week in cox’s bazar
Customer Awareness Week, Chattogram 2025 of Bangladesh Bank began in Cox's Bazar on 13 December 2025, aiming to enhance banking awareness among customers.
The programme was organised by the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of Bangladesh Bank in association with Bank Asia PLC.
Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Md Niamul Kabir attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.
Special guests included Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Md Mokbul Hossain, Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department Muhammad Mohsin Hossaini, and Deputy Managing Director of Bank Asia Mirza Azhar Ahmad. The programme was presided over by Munir Ahmed Chowdhury, Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of Bangladesh Bank.
The welcome address was delivered by Mohammad Mahenur Alam, Additional Director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department and Head of the Strategic Communication Team of Bangladesh Bank.
In his remarks, the chief guest said customers are the lifeblood of banking services and stressed that customer awareness is as important as the role of bankers in ensuring effective banking operations. He urged bankers to remain vigilant in delivering quality customer service and to take greater responsibility in raising awareness among customers.
The programme featured awareness-focused presentations and audiovisual displays on various aspects of banking services. It also highlighted Bangladesh Bank's ongoing initiatives to improve customer awareness.
More than 120 officials from banks and financial institutions across the Chattogram division attended the event. Bangladesh Bank said a series of awareness programmes and activities would be conducted throughout the week to encourage customers to practise safe and informed banking.
