Bangladesh Bank and UCB launch entrepreneur training in Manikganj
A month-long Entrepreneur Development Training Programme has been launched in Manikganj under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), implemented by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The training is being organised by the Bangladesh Bank in collaboration with United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB).
Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director and Deputy Programme Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. Syed Hasnain Mamun, Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice-President (EVP) of UCB, was present as special guest. Also in attendance were UCB's Regional Head (Dhaka North), Head of SME and Agri Banking Division, and other officials.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the guests underscored the importance of developing skilled and innovative entrepreneurs to strengthen the country's economic growth. They noted that such initiatives will help young entrepreneurs gain practical knowledge, financial support, and training to establish and expand their ventures.
A total of 25 promising new entrepreneurs are participating in the month-long training. Through the programme, participants will receive hands-on guidance on business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and innovation-driven enterprise operations.
The organisers said the training is part of a broader effort to promote local entrepreneurship and employment generation across Bangladesh. As part of the joint initiative between Bangladesh Bank and UCB, similar entrepreneur development programmes are being arranged in other districts to nurture new business leaders and foster sustainable economic growth.
