BanglaCAT hosts ‘Freedom 250’ reception in Chattogram
BanglaCAT, the authorised dealer of Caterpillar Inc. in Bangladesh, hosted an exclusive evening reception, "Freedom 250," in partnership with the United States Embassy in Dhaka at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on 1 July 2026.
The event marked the 250th anniversary of United States independence and highlighted the partnership between Bangladesh and the United States.
Ambassador Brent T. Christensen of the United States Embassy in Bangladesh attended the reception alongside senior officials, business leaders, representatives from diverse socio-economic sectors, stakeholders, and members of BanglaCAT's management.
Part of the global "Freedom 250" initiative, the reception celebrated 2.5 centuries of freedom, innovation, and progress, reflecting BanglaCAT's commitment to stakeholder engagement.
BanglaCAT said it has served Bangladesh for over twenty years by delivering American technology, innovation and engineering solutions through Caterpillar products and services, contributing to industrial growth and development.
The company noted it is the country's leading provider of captive power generation solutions, with more than 65% of export-oriented industries relying on Caterpillar generators. It added that over 5,000 Caterpillar machines support critical sectors across Bangladesh, including infrastructure, construction, power, marine and inland waterways.
In Chattogram, Bangladesh's maritime gateway, BanglaCAT said it has established a strong presence in the marine sector by supplying Caterpillar-powered solutions to government and private vessels. These services are backed by a nationwide service network offering round-the-clock support.
Guests participated in an evening of networking and cultural exchange, with performances by the United States Army Tropic Lightning Band and Bangladesh's Stone Free Band.
The performances blended American brass with Bangladeshi rock, celebrating friendship, cultural appreciation, and shared values.
Speaking on the occasion, BanglaCAT reaffirmed its pride in commemorating the milestone with the United States Embassy in Dhaka and partners, highlighting the ties between Bangladesh and the United States.
The reception concluded with a renewed focus on innovation and sustainable progress between the two countries.
