AIUB student selected for prestigious U.S. Exchange Programme

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) proudly announces that Iram Ajmain Mugdho, a first-year, third-semester student from the Department of English, has been selected for the prestigious, fully funded "Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI)" student exchange programme, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

As part of this program, Mugdho will spend one month at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, participating in academic and cultural exchanges centred around the theme "Natural Resources."

This selection is a significant achievement for both Mugdho and the AIUB community. In addition to his academic endeavours, Mugdho serves as the Elected Youth Councillor of Rajshahi City Corporation, supported by UN-Habitat, UNDEF, the Ministry of Local Government, and SERAC-Bangladesh. He is a committed human rights and social activist, having addressed the UN-HABITAT World Urban Forum 2024 as a virtual speaker. In 2023, Mugdho and his team were named Divisional Champions in the 'imaGen Venture Youth Challenge,' organised by UNICEF Bangladesh.

He is also the Founder and CEO of The Smiling Foundation, which focuses on orphan care, autism support, youth development, and climate change awareness. In recognition of his contributions, Mugdho received the 'International Leadership Award 2023' as an emerging social activist from Winning Move Events. AIUB celebrates this milestone and wishes him continued success in his leadership and academic journey.
