JCD, NCP rallies: DMP asks commuters to avoid Shahbagh, Shaheed Minar areas
The police also urged HSC and BCS examinees to start early to reach the exam centres on time

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a public notice announcing a traffic advisory in parts of the capital on Sunday (3 August) due to multiple rallies and events.
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) will hold a student rally at Shahbagh from 12pm to 6pm as part of its month-long programme marking the first anniversary of the July-August mass uprising.
The National Citizen Party (NCP) is scheduled to organise a rally at the Central Shaheed Minar from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, demanding the July Declaration and charter. Meanwhile, cultural organisation Saimum Shilpigosthi continues its "July Jagoron" festival at Suhrawardy Udyan from 10am to 10pm.
DMP warned that heavy gatherings will make Shahbagh, Shaheed Minar, and Suhrawardy Udyan areas inaccessible, particularly Shahbagh intersection.
Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and use alternative routes via diversion points, including Hotel Intercontinental, Katabon, Matsya Bhaban, TSC/Raju Sculpture, and adjacent roads.
The police also urged HSC and BCS examinees to start early to reach the exam centres on time.
"DMP seeks the full cooperation of city residents to minimise inconvenience during the events," the notice said.
