Flight Expert CEO Salman allegedly flees amid website shutdown, financial concerns

Widespread concern has gripped customers after the website of Flight Expert, an online travel agency in Bangladesh, became inaccessible, prompting fears over existing bookings and scheduled travel.
A general diary (GD) has been filed with Motijheel Police Station stating that Flight Expert's CEO Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem has allegedly fled the country.
According to the GD, filed by company representative Sayeed Ahmed, Salman informed employees via the agency's WhatsApp group that he was leaving Bangladesh.
When staff arrived at the office on Saturday, Salman was reportedly nowhere to be found.
The GD further alleges that significant financial transactions with both customers and suppliers are now in risk, and some staff members have received threats from affected clients.
Mezbah Uddin, officer-in-charge of Motijheel Police Station, confirmed that police have received the complaint and are currently investigating.
He added that several other travel agencies have reported being unable to verify ticket bookings made through Flight Expert, further fueling concerns of a possible financial mishap.
The agency's website remains offline, and Salman has not responded to attempts to contact him.
While police acknowledged there are allegations of financial irregularities, they refrained from disclosing further details pending the outcome of the investigation.
Evaly, an e-commerce platform, which shut down following allegations of irregularity and fraud, acquired Flight Expert on 29 May 2021.
