141 teachers awarded at British Council Partner Schools event
The British Council Partner Schools Teachers' Recognition Award 2025 took place on 26 October 2025 at Le Méridien Dhaka, celebrating teachers who successfully completed the British Council's Yearly Training Programme.
The initiative brought together dedicated schoolteachers who had completed both online and in-person modules on special educational needs, future core skills, behaviour management, and effective lesson planning.
The event recognised 141 teachers from 26 schools for their commitment to professional growth – including 115 teachers from 18 schools in Dhaka, 19 from Chattogram, and seven from Sylhet.
In his welcome remarks, Maxim Raimann, Country Exams Director of the British Council in Bangladesh, said, 'It is a proud moment for us to bring together more than 100 schoolteachers on this platform, which shows their commitment to professional development. We thank our partner schools for their continuous collaboration. We believe this platform is a testament to our partnership. Congratulations to the teachers on their achievements. We believe these initiatives help teachers become better equipped to prepare students for the future.'
The event also featured speeches by Talal Meer, Regional Business Director, English and Exams, South Asia, British Council, and a presentation on the success story of the Yearly Training Programme by Sana Shahid, Master Trainer, British Council Bangladesh.
Another highlight included a session on shared practices in Saudi Arabia, presented by Srideep Mitra, Master Trainer, British Council KSA, showcasing international collaboration in teacher development.
Participating teachers received crests and certificates in recognition of their achievements, while two awardees shared their training experiences with the British Council.
Tahnee Yeasmin, Director of Business Development, concluded the event with closing remarks. Two further award ceremonies are scheduled to be held in Chattogram on 28 October and in Sylhet on 8 November 2025.
