Two more private hospitals in Narayanganj to provide free treatment to Corona patients: Shamim Osman

In Narayanganj, two more private hospitals are being set up to treat corona patients, said MP Shamim Osman at a briefing after an emergency meeting at the deputy commissioner's office on Monday afternoon.

The MP held an emergency meeting with concerned people including the deputy commissioner to transform the  Pro-Active Medical College & Hospital with ICU facility and Al Baraka Hospital with oxygen and ventilator facility into corona hospitals.

The two institutions have voluntarily agreed to provide services to corona patients for free, and from today they have started admitting corona patients. MP Shamim Osman said that the corona treatment services in Narayanganj will be sped up after the hospitals are fully prepared to provide corona patients with treatment.

A 10-bed ICU unit is being set up  in the city's Khanpur 300-bed hospital to improve the quality of medical services of the hospital. But there were allegations of various irregularities and corruption in the hospital, he said.

Shamim Osman also warned that those who are involved in irregularities and corruption  would not be spared in this case in the interest of the state. Because Sheikh Hasina did not spare those in her party who were involved in irregularities and corruption.

Dr Mujibur Rahman of Pro-Active Medical College in Siddhirganj's Signboard area and Dr Khalilur Rahman of Madanpur Al Baraka Hospital said the hospitals would not seek any financial help from the government to provide medical services to corona patients.

However, MP Shamim Osman assured them of filling the shortage of ancillary equipment, including doctors and nurses.

Deputy Commissioner  Jasim Uddin, Civil Surgeon. Mohammad Imtiaz, District Corona Focal Person and Sadar Upazila Health Officer. Jahidul Islam and other officials of the district health department were present at the meeting.
