BAT Bangladesh appoints Sarzil Sarwar as head of IDT

British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh recently appointed Sarzil Sarwar as its new head of Information and Digital Technology (IDT). 

Before joining BAT Bangladesh, Sarwar was the group head of Technology Programme and performance management at Axiata Group Berhad.

During his tenure with Axiata Group Berhad, Sarwar worked in several management roles at Robi Axiata. From 2012, he was responsible for: overseeing the Transformation Office, programme management, digital transformation, and customer experience functions.

Besides serving at Axiata Berhad, Sarwar also worked for several other leading telecom companies – such as Ooredoo, Airtel and Veon – in areas of information technology, business-to-business and strategy across Middle Eastern, African and South Asian markets.
