What is the King Charles 'Harmony Award' that CA Yunus is set to receive

Nobel laureate and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is set to receive the prestigious 'Harmony Award 2025' from King Charles III on 12 June during a visit to the United Kingdom after Eid-ul-Adha.
The award, introduced in 2024 through the King's Foundation — a charity deeply valued by the monarch — honours individuals and organisations that embody the principle of living in harmony with the natural world.
The guiding principle of the award is: "We should work with nature, not against it." Rooted in this philosophy, the Harmony Awards spotlight sustainability, traditional craftsmanship, environmentally friendly business practices, and ecological awareness.
Who else got the award
At the inaugural Harmony Awards ceremony last year, former UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon was the first recipient, recognised for his lifetime commitment to sustainable global development.
Other recipients included food advocate Jamie Oliver, who was named "Advocate of the Year", and several young entrepreneurs, community organisations, and eco-conscious businesses from around the world.
The event draws high-profile figures, with past guests including David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Sir Rod Stewart, and Naomi Campbell. The awards ceremony features not only accolades but also interactive exhibits promoting the intersection of science, technology, and nature.
For Yunus, best known for pioneering microcredit and social business models to alleviate poverty, the award is an international nod to his continuous efforts toward building sustainable and inclusive economic systems.
With the Harmony Award, King Charles aims to inspire a new global dialogue on sustainability and the need to reimagine our relationship with the natural world.
According to Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yunus will leave Dhaka on 9 June and arrive in London on 10 June.
The award ceremony will be held on 12 June at St James's Palace, hosted by the British royal family. Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh on 13 June.
