Metro rail services resume after nearly 2hrs halt due to electrical issue
The operations resumed at around 6.55pm

Metro rail operations resumed after a nearly two-hour halt due to a technical fault with the overhead catenary system somewhere between Shewrapara and Shahbagh today (26 April).
"The operations resumed at around 6.55pm," Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, manager (admin) and public relations officer (PRO) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), told The Business Standard.
According to DMTCL, the disruption occurred around 5pm when a train stopped abruptly upon reaching Shahbagh station. At the same time, another train came to a halt at Agargaon station, leaving numerous commuters stranded inside the trains and at various platforms.
Officials confirmed that the interruption occurred in the power supply system between Shewrapara and Shahbagh.
On May 25 last year, metro operations were similarly disrupted due to a technical fault, which took approximately an hour to fix.
