Man, 4-year-old daughter killed in Bogura road crash while travelling home for Eid holidays

A man and his daughter were killed after an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle in Bogura's Shajahanpur upazila this morning (25 May) while they were travelling home for the Eid-ul-Adha holidays.
The deceased were Anisur Rahman, 35, of Gopalpur village in Pabna's Sujanagar upazila, and his daughter Ayesha, 4.
The victim's wife, Pushpa Akter, was critically injured in the accident and admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.
Anisur worked at Brac, a private development organisation, in Rangpur.
Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ashik Iqbal said the two bodies have been kept at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, adding that the Highway Police is working on the legal procedures in this connection.
Bogura Fire Service Senior Station Officer Shahidul Islam said Anisur was travelling to his village home in Pabna on a motorcycle with his wife and daughter for the Eid holidays.
When they reached the Banani area of Bogura at around 7:30am, an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle, throwing them onto the highway, he added.
He said Anisur died on the spot, while his daughter was also killed in the crash.
"After receiving the information, fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered the bodies. Pushpa Akter was rescued from the roadside in critical condition and taken to hospital," the official added.
