Launch services suspended on 10 Bhola routes

The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended launch services on 10 internal river routes in Bhola district due to a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal causing rough river conditions.
Confirming the matter, Bhola River Port Traffic Officer Jasim Uddin told The Business Standard that the suspension of services on the 10 internal routes began at around 1:00pm today (13 August) after a cautionary signal no 3 was issued for all seaports.
"The affected routes include Ilisha-Laxmipur's Moju Chowdhury, Char Fasson-Dhaka, Hatia-Dhaka, Hatia-Char Fasson, Manpura-Dhaka, Tazumuddin-Manpura, and Daulatkhan-Alexandar," he said.
"However, launch services on other key routes, such as Bhola Sadar's Kheyaghat-Dhaka, Ilisha-Dhaka, Borhanuddin-Dhaka, Lalmohan-Dhaka, Ghosher Hat-Dhaka, and Vheduria-Barishal, are operating as usual at the time of filing this report," the traffic officer added.
