Europe is shivering in a heatwave, with France reporting the highest number of deaths
At least 3,700 people died in France, Belgium and the Netherlands in a severe heatwave that swept across Europe in June. Of these, 2,025 died in France, about 1,200 in Belgium and about 480 in the Netherlands. Most of the dead were elderly. According to scientists, this terrible heatwave has been made more intense due to climate change.
