Three killed, two injured in pickup-auto rickshaw collision in Ctg's Mirsharai

Three people, including a child, were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a sand-laden pickup truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram yesterday afternoon (14 June).
The accident occurred around 3pm in front of Azamnagar School in the Chhinkirhat area along the Baraiyarhat-Khagrachhari road.
All the victims were residents of Belu Bali Bari in Madhyam Bamonsundar village under Ward-9 of Katakhali union in Mirsharai.
Saiful Islam Shahin, 17, died on the spot, said Jorarganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mostakin Hossain.
Sumi Akhter, 25, and her three-year-old son Manarul later succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), he added.
"The collision also left auto-rickshaw driver Zia Uddin Babul, 30, and his 7-year-old daughter Tanisha injured. They were rescued and taken to CMCH for treatment," the police official said.
According to police, the auto-rickshaw involved in the accident had no registration number.
A case in this connection is under process and police are looking into the accident.
