Prayer mahfil held in Gaibandha seeking eternal peace of Khaleda Zia
A prayer mahfil was held at Katlamari in Fulchhari Upazila on Friday afternoon, 9 January, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The programme was organised by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at Katlamari, Fulchhari. BNP's nominated candidate for the Gaibandha-5 (Saghata–Fulchhari) constituency, Faruk Alam Sarkar, attended the mahfil as chief guest.
Leaders and activists from various levels of the party were present at the event. Among them were Abu Sayeed Sarkar, senior joint convener of Fulchhari Upazila Jubo Dal; Faruk Mia, member secretary; Rawshanuzzaman Ripon, joint convener; Gazaria Union BNP general secretary Mizanur Rahman Mithu; Union Jubo Dal convener Shamsuddin Babu; Swechchhasebak Dal convener Azarul Azharul Islam Babu; Union BNP organising secretary Saider Rahman, along with other local leaders and supporters.
Special prayers were offered during the mahfil, seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for the departed leader.
