391 warrants: Evaly's Rassel, Nasrin arrested again
Police had earlier arrested Rassel and Shamima on 16 September 2021 from their Mohammadpur residence on charges of fraud and embezzlement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) has arrested Evaly Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohammad Rassel and his wife, company chairperson Shamima Nasrin, once again.
They were arrested in the early hours of today (20 January) from Dhanmondi in the capital, confirmed DB Chief Additional Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam.
He told The Business Standard that there are 391 arrest warrants against Rassel and Shamima in cases filed with different police stations, including Dhanmondi, Kafrul and Savar. Of these, 263 warrants are against Rassel and 128 against Shamima.
He added that the process of producing them before a court is underway.
Earlier, police had arrested Rassel and Shamima on 16 September 2021 from their Mohammadpur residence on charges of fraud and embezzlement. Shamima was released on bail in April 2022, while Rassel secured bail in December the same year.
