Nurul Haque Nur to leave for Singapore Monday for advanced treatment
He had been under treatment for the past 18 days at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at a private hospital in the capital
Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur will fly to Singapore on Monday (22 September) for advanced medical treatment.
Nur will be at the airport at 6am before departing for Singapore, according to a Gono Odhikar Parishad press release issued today (21 September).
He had been under treatment for the past 18 days at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at a private hospital in the capital, it said.
The release added that doctors recommended sending him abroad for further treatment, a decision made by his family and party members despite his initial reluctance.
Earlier on 29 August night, a clash broke out in the capital's Kakrail area between activists of Nur's party and the Jatiyo Party.
As the situation escalated, police and army personnel charged batons to bring the situation under control. Nur was injured during law enforcers' action.
He sustained injuries to his head and nose, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Director Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman confirmed the following day.
