Mob created to block Chhatra Dal from collecting Ducsu nomination forms: Rizvi
"Why should such a situation exist under CA Yunus’s government? Why should lawless crowds take the law into their own hands in neighbourhoods, villages, and districts?” he said today (19 August) after offering flowers and prayers at the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that activists are creating mobs to prevent Chhatra Dal from collecting nomination forms in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election.
"Chhatra Dal is being obstructed from buying nomination forms by forming mobs. Why should such a situation exist under CA Yunus's government? Why should lawless crowds take the law into their own hands in neighbourhoods, villages, and districts?" he said today (19 August) after offering flowers and prayers at the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
The programme was organised marking the 45th founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Swechhasebak Dal.
"We wanted a Bangladesh achieved through so many sacrifices and so much blood. But mob culture has spread across the country because the law is not being enforced properly. As a result, illegal activities are taking place and even the lives of minorities have become endangered. We cannot accept this," Rizvi said.
On elections, the BNP leader told reporters, "The government has announced it will give an electoral roadmap. Let us see what they present. The polling centres created with political motives during the fascist era must be cancelled. A fresh arrangement of centres based on the people's distribution is a must."
Referring to BNP's formation, he said, "Ziaur Rahman formed the Swechhasebak Dal based on the ideals of nationalism. The organisation will stand beside the people with humanitarian and welfare activities. BNP was created to serve the people and to stand by the helpless. Politics means serving humanity."
