Khasru urges BNP men to promote welfare-based politics with respect
Upholding national interests, ensuring people's welfare and guaranteeing their safety are the core principles of the politics espoused by late president Ziaur Rahman, says Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, party candidate for Chattogram-10, urged party leaders and activists today (25 November) to approach voters with respect and affability to make them aware of the party's welfare-oriented politics.
"Upholding national interests, ensuring people's welfare and guaranteeing their safety are the core principles of the politics espoused by late president Ziaur Rahman," Khasru said at a views-exchange meeting with Kattali ward BNP leaders and activists under Chattogram-10 (Double Mooring-Pahartali), at his Mehdibagh residence this morning.
He said the party is committed to ensuring the rights of all citizens irrespective of caste, creed and religion, by promoting tolerance and inclusiveness.
"The main goal of the BNP's politics is to build a stable, prosperous and happy Bangladesh where no one is deprived of their legitimate rights, where every citizen can live safely with dignity and honour, and where all enjoy equal freedom to practise their religious rituals," he added.
The BNP leader urged party activists to conduct door-to-door campaigns among all categories of voters, from affluent to marginalised groups, and motivate them to support BNP candidates.
He asked them to highlight the political ideology of Ziaur Rahman and Tarique Rahman's 31-point proposal for rebuilding the country.
Khasru said the BNP has prepared a comprehensive plan to revive the country's weakened economy, improve healthcare and social welfare, restore law and order, create employment for the large number of jobless youth, and introduce technology-based, job-oriented education, if the party is elected to form government.
"All of us must take into account the changed public mindset, especially after the July Uprising, while shaping politics," he added.
Later, he held discussions with ward-level leaders and reviewed the preparations for conducting election campaigns in the area.
