Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has said the party will closely observe what role BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman plays in the current political landscape, including his plans and how he seeks to implement them.

The Jamaat top leader also described the BNP leader's return as a positive development.
He said, "A fellow political leader has returned to active politics after 17 years, which he viewed as encouraging for the country's political process."
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar also told BBC Bangla that he considers Tarique Rahman's return a positive development.
However, he noted that Tarique Rahman's political future will ultimately be shaped by his actions and leadership in the coming days.

Islami Andolon Bangladesh and Khilafat Majlis have welcomed the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, expressing hope that his arrival will have a positive impact on the country's political landscape.
Ameer of Islami Andolon Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim said Tarique Rahman's return could help ease the political instability that has prevailed in recent years.
He noted that a major party like the BNP had long been deprived of direct leadership, and expressed hope that Tarique Rahman's presence would help fill that vacuum.
Meanwhile, Khilafat Majlis welcomed Tarique Rahman and his family on returning to Bangladesh after ending his exile.
In a joint statement, Khilafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad and Secretary General Dr Ahmed Abdul Quader described his return as a positive development in the struggle against fascism.
They said the restoration of the right of an oppressed Bangladeshi citizen and political leader to return to his homeland after years of repression under a long fascist regime was a significant achievement.
Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh this morning. This marks the BNP leader's return to Bangladesh from London for the first time after more than 17 years in exile. His wife Dr Zubaida Rahman and their daughter Zaima Rahman also accompanied him.
After landing in Dhaka, he headed to a reception rally in the 300 Feet Road area in Purbachal, where party leaders and supporters gathered to welcome him.
Following the brief address in Purbachal, Tarique proceeded directly to Evercare Hospital to visit his ailing mother, former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
He will later head to his residence in Gulshan, a house he left behind nearly two decades ago.
The 60-year-old son of ailing former prime minister Khaleda Zia had lived in London since 2008 and led the BNP as acting chairman since 2018.
He had been unable to return while facing multiple criminal cases at home.
Tarique was convicted in absentia on charges that included money laundering and in a case linked to an alleged plot to assassinate former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
The rulings were overturned after Hasina was ousted last year in a student-led uprising, clearing the legal barriers to his return.
