Implementing Islamic labour policy can ensure welfare and liberation of workers: Jamaat ameer
Implementation of an Islamic labour policy is the only way to ensure welfare and liberation of the working class, while also safeguarding the interests of employers, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said today (29 April).
In a statement issued today on the occasion of International Workers' Day on 1 May, the Jamaat ameer called for nationwide observance of the day with due significance.
He expressed concern over the frequent deprivation of workers from their legitimate rights.

"Conflicts between owners and workers are common in factories and the industrial sector. Many workers are often dismissed for demanding fair wages and benefits. They are harassed with lawsuits and, in some cases, injured or even killed during protests," Shafiqur said.
He stressed the urgent need to end such injustices.
