Passengers from China screened for new virus at Ctg airport

The passengers arriving from China are being screened at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport for signs of infection from a mysterious and potentially deadly new virus.
A medical team led by Chattogram's Divisional Health Officer begun working at the airport from January 19 to prevent the mysterious respiratory virus (Coronavirus), which can be passed from person-to-person and already sickened more than 218 in China.
"There is no direct flight in Chattogram airport from China but many passengers come from connecting flights," Airport Manager Wing Commander Sarwar E Zaman said.
"No passengers were detected with the symptom of being infected by the Coronavirus so far," he added.

Posters around the airport area have been posted to raise awareness about Coronavirus, he said.
The virus was first identified in Wuhan, a central Chinese city of 11 million people last year.
This never seen before disease belongs to a broad family of viruses ranging from the common cold to more serious illnesses, according to the United Nation's health agency.
The virus killed four people in China and currently 218 confirmed cases have been reported across the major cities including Beijing and Shanghai, confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO).
