Next date for Sagar-Runi murder probe report on 27 January
This is the 114th extension of the deadline for submission of the probe in the sensational murder case
Sagar Sarwar, news editor of Massranga Television, and Meherun Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bangla TV, were killed on the early hours of 11 February 2012, in a rented house in West Rajabazar of the capital.
A Dhaka court yesterday (23 December) fixed 27 January 2025 for submitting the probe report on the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
This is the 114th extension of the deadline for submission of the probe in the sensational murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharifur Rahman has fixed the new date for submitting the report as the investigation agency could not submit the report yesterday.

Machranga Television news editor Sagar Sarowar and ATN Bangla senior reporter Meherun Runi were killed on 11 February 2012 in their rented flat in the capital's West Razabazar.
Later, Nowsher Alam Roman, brother of Runi, filed a murder case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in this connection.
