Looting will not continue in new Bangladesh: NCP’s Akhter
During the discussion, he also elaborated on the need for a new constitution in the country, the outline of a new framework for the post-2024 period, and the steps required to fulfil the people’s aspirations
The system of looting that prevailed under previous governments will have no place in the new Bangladesh, National Citizen Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhter Hossen said today (1 November).
"In the era of the fascist regime, the people were only fed songs of development, while in reality, looting was carried out in the name of that so-called development," he said while exchanging views with marginalised communities at Rahmat Char in Pirgachha upazila of Rangpur.
"The hard-earned money of migrant workers and the working class was plundered and smuggled abroad. Buildings were constructed using borrowed foreign funds. This looting mechanism will not continue in the new Bangladesh. Every step taken to improve people's living standards will be subject to accountability," he added.
During the discussion, he also elaborated on the need for a new constitution in the country, the outline of a new framework for the post-2024 period, and the steps required to fulfil the people's aspirations.
He also engaged with local residents to learn about their concerns and discussed possible solutions to local problems.
