Nominations of top NCP leaders, including Nahid, Patwary and Akhter, declared valid
Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah were also cleared to contest from their constituencies
The nominations of the top leaders from the National Citizen Party (NCP), including Nahid Islam, Nasiruddin Patwary and Akhter Hossain, has been declared valid for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election scheduled for 12 February.
Mahbub Alam, head of the Election Media Sub‑Committee of the party, confirmed the matter to the media today (3 January).
According to the latest information, the nomination paper of NCP Convenor Nahid Islam has been declared valid as the party's candidate under the 11-party electoral alliance for the Dhaka-11 constituency. Meanwhile, the nominations of NCP Member Secretary Akhter Hossain for Rangpur-4 and Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary for Dhaka-8 have also been declared valid.
Speaking to The Business Standard, party's Senior Joint Convenor Ariful Islam Adeeb, said his nomination has been declared valid for the Dhaka-18 constituency. "Besides, the party's Joint Convenor Javed Rasin's nomination was declared valid for Dhaka-9," he added.
Besides them, the party's Chief Organiser (northern region) Sarjis Alam, had his nomination declared valid for Panchagarh-1, while Chief Organiser (southern region) Hasnat Abdullah was cleared to contest from Cumilla-4 (Debidwar).
Nominations of Joint Convenor Mahbub Alam Mahir from Lakshmipur-1, Joint Chief Organiser Mahmuda Mitu from Jhalokathi-1, Joint Member Secretary Abdullah Al Amin from Narayanganj-4, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud from Noakhali-6 were also declared valid.
