No leniency if Awami League engages in unlawful activities: Home adviser
“The Awami League’s activities are prohibited, so if they try to commit any wrongdoing, there will be no scope for compromise,” he told reporters today (2 August) after inspecting Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has warned that no leniency will be shown if the Awami League attempts to engage in any unlawful activities, as the party's activities remain banned.
"The Awami League's activities are prohibited, so if they try to commit any wrongdoing, there will be no scope for compromise," he told reporters today (2 August) after inspecting Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital.
The adviser also dismissed concerns of unrest ahead of 5 August, saying, "There is no reason for any apprehension surrounding 5 August. Law enforcement agencies are fully prepared and alert. Moreover, with the support and cooperation from journalists and all stakeholders, there is nothing to fear."
Regarding allegations of Awami League conducting covert operations and secret training, he said, "Everyone involved will be brought under the law. Even if members of any force are implicated, they will not be spared. This is a matter of investigation, and action will be taken based on its findings."
Praising the role of the media, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury added, "The country is progressing because the media is reporting the truth. I have always said that since our journalists are presenting facts, the tone of foreign media is gradually softening. They can no longer make noise as they used to."
