Kushtia SP among 12 policemen transferred

Twelve police personnel including the Kushtia superintendent of Police SM Tanvir Arafat who drew huge criticism for his misconduct with a magistrate during a municipal polls have been transferred to various posts across the country.

Dhananjoy Kumar Das, deputy secretary at the public security division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, signed the transfer order on Monday with the approval of President Mohammad Abdul Hamid.

As per the order, Kushtia SP has been transferred to Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) as the deputy police commissioner, while BMP's Deputy Commissioner Md Khairul Alam has been appointed Kushtia SP.

Also, Chattogram Metropolitan Police's (CMP) Deputy Commissioner Md Hamidul Alam has been appointed Highway Police Unit SP; Bagerhat SP Pankoj Chandro Roy is now Criminal Investigation Department (CID) SP; Jamalpur SP Md Delwar Hossain has been appointed CID SP; Narail SP Mohammad Jasim Uddin is now Deputy Commissioner at Chattogram Metropolitan Police; Patuakhali SP Mohammad Mainul Hasan is now Deputy Commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP); Gazipur Metropolitan Police's Deputy Commissioner K M Ariful Haque is now Bagerhat SP; CID SP Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed has been appointed Jamalpur SP; DMP's Deputy Commissioner Probir Kumar Roy is now Narail SP; CMP's deputy commissioner Mohammad Shahidullah has been appointed Patuakhali SP; and CID Rangpur Metro SP Milu Miah Biswas has been appointed Commandant, In-service training center, Armed Police Battalion-6, Mohalchari, Khagrachhari.
