Motijheel police SI killed as bus hits his motorcycle in Khilgaon

A police sub-inspector (SI), named Kamrul Islam, was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a bus on the slope of the Khilgaon Flyover in the capital.
The accident occurred around 8:10pm yesterday (2 June).
Kamrul, who hails from Netrokona Sadar, was posted at the Motijheel Police Station. He lived in a rented accommodation with his family in the Basabo area.
Confirming the death, Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Hossain said that Kamrul was seriously injured when he was hit by a Balaka Paribahan while going to his workplace, on a motorcycle from his home.
Later, locals rescued him and took him to the Islami Bank Hospital in the area. He died there around 9:30pm while undergoing treatment.
Kamrul's body was then kept at the mortuary at Mugda Medical College Hospital.
"The bus belonging to Balaka Paribahan has been impounded. The bus driver, Jahangir Ahmed Tipu, has been detained," said OC Jahangir.
