Three passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed after being hit by a bus in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.

The accident occurred at 6:30am on the Nabinagar-Companiganj road in the Bashbazar area under Ibrahimpur union in the upazila today (5 June), said police.

Among the deceased, two were identified as Abul Kashem and Sohag Mia, who were riding on the CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

The identity of the third victim has not been confirmed yet, police said.

Confirming the matter, Azadur Rahman, sub-inspector of Nabinagar Police Station, said, "A CNG-run auto-rickshaw was traveling from Brahmanbaria's Nabinagar to Companiganj in Cumilla with passengers. A bus coming from the opposite direction rammed into the auto-rickshaw after it reached the Bashbazar area, killing all three passengers on the spot."

"Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies," the SI said.
