'Kali O Kolom' Editor Abul Hasnat passes away
Abul Hasnat was admitted to the hospital on 15 September due to a lung infection

Country's famed literature magazine 'Kali O Kolom' Editor Abul Hasnat passed away on Sunday morning at the Anwar Khan Modern Hospital due to cardiac arrest.
'Kali O Kolom' Assistant Editor Ashfaq Khan confirmed the matter saying, "Abul Hasnat was admitted to the hospital on 15 September due to a lung infection. He tested negative for Covid-19."
National Poetry Council General Secretary Tariq Sujat told the media that Abul Hasnat will be buried at Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in Mirpur.
The body of Abul Hasnat (Mahmud Al-Zaman) will be placed at Bengal Shilpalaya from 1 pm to 2 pm, and at Chayanat Complex from 2:15pm to 3:15 pm for people to pay their last respect.
He will be laid to rest at Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard following his Janaza after Asr prayer at Dhanmondi 7th Road Mosque.
Abul Hasnat was a poet, journalist and literary editor at the same time. He has been the literary editor of the daily Sangbad for 24 years.
Apart from journalism and editing, Abul Hasnat also wrote stories and poems. In 2013, he received the Bangla Academy Award.
