Ganosamhati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki said that justice, reform and elections are the main national interests of Bangladesh at this moment, warning that any attempt to obstruct reforms or elections would go against the interests of the country and its people.
He made these remarks today (16 December) after paying tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar on the occasion of Victory Day.
Saki alleged that fallen fascist forces are attempting to destabilise the electoral environment through covert attacks. Referring to the shooting of Osman Hadi in broad daylight, he said the incident exposed serious failures of the state and law-enforcement agencies.

"Those entrusted with state responsibility who are neglecting their duties must be identified and brought to account. Anyone trying to damage the electoral environment must be firmly resisted," he added.
Highlighting Victory Day, Saki said honouring the martyrs requires ensuring justice, reform and a democratic transition in line with their aspirations.
According to Saki, fallen fascist elements, along with their domestic and foreign allies, are attempting to undermine the achievements of the mass uprising, while some political groups are also seeking to delay the election process.
If we can maintain a basic consensus on justice, reform and elections, we can build a democratic state. Otherwise, divisions will be exploited to undermine the gains of the uprising," he warned.
