July Uprising Directorate established
The directorate has been established under the ministry following the decision made at the Advisory Council meeting on 12 December

The interim government has established the July Uprising Directorate to preserve the history of last year's July Uprising which ousted the Awami League government from power, rehabilitate the families of those killed and injured during the movement, and promote the ideals and spirit of the uprising at the state level.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a gazette notification today (28 April) announcing the formation of the directorate.
According to the notification, the directorate has been established under the ministry following the decision made at the Advisory Council meeting on 12 December last year.
An inter-ministerial meeting on establishing the directorate was held on 28 December, chaired by Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk E Azam.
At that meeting, a policy decision was made to establish the directorate under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. The Advisory Council later gave the green light.
Additionally, the Secretary Committee on Administrative Development has approved the proposal to create 33 new posts for the newly formed directorate.
