Joint Bangladesh-US military exercise 'Tiger Lightning 2025' inaugurated in Sylhet
The six-day-long exercise, jointly supervised by Bangladesh Army’s Para Commando Brigade and the Nevada National Guard under USARPAC, will run till 30 July, said a press release.

The opening ceremony of the joint military exercise "Tiger Lightning 2025", a collaborative effort between the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC), was held on Wednesday (23 July) at the Para Commando Brigade headquarters in Jalalabad Cantonment, Sylhet.
Major General Ascot A Winter, deputy commanding general of USARPAC, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
The six-day-long exercise, jointly supervised by Bangladesh Army's Para Commando Brigade and the Nevada National Guard under USARPAC, will run till 30 July, said a press release today (25 July).
The exercise brings together 66 personnel from the Nevada National Guard and 100 elite troops from the Bangladesh Army's Para Commando Brigade.
Officials said the aim is to strengthen joint operational capabilities, boost interoperability, and enhance preparedness in responding to evolving regional and global threats.
Highlighting the significance of the event, military officials noted that Bangladesh and the United States have long maintained strategic cooperation in the areas of regional and global security, counter-terrorism, disaster response, and humanitarian assistance.
Senior military officials from Bangladesh, including the director of Army Air Defence Directorate, director of Military Training Directorate, and the commander of the Para Commando Brigade, were present at the event.
