"We are here to discharge responsibilities, not to enjoy power,” she said

The present government is devoted not to any particular region but to the development of the whole country, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter has said.
Advisers of the interim government are holding their offices not to enjoy power but to discharge duties to the nation, she also while addressing 'Mejban and Chattola Fest-2025' organised by Greater Chattogram Samiti, Gazipur chapter at Pubail in Gazipur (21 February) today, reads a press statement issued by the fisheries and livestock.
"We, the advisers of the interim government are not only for the people of Chattogram but we are working for the people of the whole of Bangladesh. We are here to discharge responsibilities, not to enjoy power," she said.
The adviser emphasised protecting the language of Chattogram saying it's a rich dialect accommodating many vocabularies from English, Arabic, Portuguese and Arakan.
Mentioning the uniqueness of the betel leaf of Mohskhali, she said the leaf is one of our GI products as it is distinctive from the betel leaves of other parts of the country.
Adviser for Religious Affairs A F M Khalid Hossain, president of the Samiti Mohammad Sohel Sadat, general secretary Debojit Roy and chairman of adviser panel Sahidul Islam Jhinuk, were present, among others.
