Dhaka University authorities have announced tightened security at all campus entrances from 7pm on 20 February
Comprehensive security measures have been put in place across Dhaka to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day on 21 February. Enhanced security will be maintained at the Central Shaheed Minar and Azimpur Graveyard to manage crowds and prevent any untoward incidents.
The President and Prime Minister are scheduled to pay homage to the language martyrs at the Shaheed Minar in the early hours, with law enforcement enforcing additional security for 30 minutes afterwards to facilitate tributes by dignitaries. Following their homage, foreign diplomats, representatives of ministries and organisations, and political leaders will lay wreaths.
