Greater Barishal social welfare association holds annual get-together in Savar
The annual get-together of the Greater Barishal Social Welfare Association, comprising residents from the Rajashon and Dewgaon areas of Savar, was held on 16 January in a festive and lively atmosphere.
The day-long programme saw a large turnout of association members, along with their families and invited guests, turning the occasion into a joyful reunion. A range of sports competitions for both children and adults were organised, alongside cultural performances and a raffle draw. Winners of the various competitions received prizes amid much enthusiasm and celebration.
Following the recreational segment, a general meeting was held to discuss the organisation's future plans and welfare-focused initiatives. ASP Mesbah Uddin attended the meeting as chief guest. The session was presided over by the organisation's chief adviser, while overall guidance and coordination were provided by general secretary Jakir Hossain.
A police inspector played a key role in maintaining discipline and ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme, with active cooperation from association members.
During the meeting, Aminul Haque Badol emphasised the importance of making the organisation more proactive, expanding its membership base and strengthening welfare activities in the coming days. Vice-chairman Mahbub Morshed expressed optimism that inclusion of new members would further consolidate the association as a strong platform dedicated to public welfare.
The annual get-together reflected the association's commitment to unity, harmony, and social responsibility.
