Faridul Haque new state minister for religious affairs

Md Faridul Haque Khan, a lawmaker from Jamalpur-2 Constituency, has taken oath as state minister for religious affairs.
President Abdul Hamid administered the oath taking ceremony at Bangabhaban on Tuesday.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and Information Minister Hasan Mahmud were, among others, present at the swearing-in ceremony that started at 7:05 pm, reports UNB.
Faridul Haque was given the religious affairs portfolio as it remained vacant since the death of Sheikh Md Abdullah in June this year.
Secretary to the President's Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Shamim Uz Zaman, Press Secretary to the President Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (Joint) Md Wahidul Islam Khan were also present on the occasion.
The 47-member Cabinet of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government was formed on January 6 after Awami League was reelected in the last general election with 31 new faces and three technocrat ministers.
On July 11, State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed and Awami League Women Affairs Secretary Fazilutunnesa Indira joined the Cabinet as minister and state minister respectively.
