Earthquake of magnitude 3.9 hits Ruma, Bandarban

A minor earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale struck Ruma in Bandarban at 6:43pm today (26 December), the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) reported.
The epicentre of the quake was located at approximately 289km southeast of the BMD Seismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
