Technical education crucial to building new Bangladesh: Education adviser
He also underscored the need to modernise the madrasah education system

Technical education is vital for the nation's progress and the creation of a modern Bangladesh, said Prof Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, education adviser to the government, today (7 July).
"I firmly believe that students pursuing technical education will be at the forefront of building a new Bangladesh. The era of hands-on, practical skills has arrived. The global landscape now demands technological proficiency—it is no longer a choice but a necessity," emphasised Prof Abrar, speaking at a ceremony organised by Jamea Islamia Alim Madrasah SSC Vocational School and BM College in Narayanganj.
He also underscored the need to modernise the madrasah education system, noting that the state actively supports integrating technical skill development into the curriculum for madrasah students.
Reflecting on recent social movements, he added, "In the month of July, we witnessed a powerful movement that united students, teachers, workers, and parents across the country. These students have paved the way for a new Bangladesh—one that embodies our collective aspirations for freedom and transformation."
Prof Abrar concluded by expressing hope that future elected representatives would work alongside citizens to realise a shared vision of a reformed and inclusive society.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumder, and the president of the institution, Jamal Uddin Miah.
