Protesters threaten to bar Buet admission test

The protesting students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) have threatened to hinder this year's admission test if their demands are not met within the given time.
The admission test for first year honours course of 2019-2020 academic session of Buet is scheduled to be held on October 14.

"We will lock down all the buildings on the Buet campus tomorrow, if Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Saiful Islam does not show sincerity to meet our demands," said Tithi, spokesperson of the movement today.
Students gathered at the Shaheed Minar premises on the Buet campus to press home their demands including capital punishment of the killers of Abrar Fahad and ban on politics on the campus.

Abrar, 22, a second-year-student of Buet's electrical and electronics engineering department was allegedly beaten to death allegedly by a group of Chhatra League men in his dormitory Sher-E-Bangla Hall on Monday over his suspected affiliation with Chhatra Shibir.
