2027 SSC exams to begin on 14 March, practicals to end by 22 April

Highlights:

• Exams will start at 10am; candidates must enter 30 minutes early
• MCQ and written sections will be held without a break
• No mobile phones allowed at examination centres
• Re-scrutiny applications must be submitted within 7 days of results being published

The 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will begin on 14 March, with the written tests scheduled to end on 15 April.

All practical examinations must be completed by 22 April, with the marks entered online by the deadline, according to the examination schedule approved by the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers Committee.

The schedule was issued by the secondary and higher secondary education boards today (24 August).

The examinations will begin at 10am every day. Candidates must enter their respective centres and take their seats at least 30 minutes before the tests start.

The multiple-choice section of the tests will be held first, followed by the creative/written section, with no break between the two parts.

According to the schedule, the first examination will be Bangla First Paper (compulsory) and Sahaj Bangla First Paper on 14 March. Bangla Second Paper (compulsory) and Sahaj Bangla Second Paper will be held on 16 March.

English First Paper (compulsory) will be held on 18 March, followed by English Second Paper (compulsory) on 21 March.

Information and Communication Technology will be held on 22 March, Mathematics on 25 March, and Bangladesh and Global Studies on 28 March.

Physics, History of Bangladesh and World Civilisation, and Finance and Banking examinations will be held on 30 March.

Geography and Environment, Chemistry, Civics and Citizenship, and Business Entrepreneurship examinations are scheduled for 1 April.

Examinations in Home Science, Agricultural Studies and several other subjects will be held on 4 April, while Music, Arabic, Sanskrit, Pali, Physical Education and Sports, and Fine Arts and Crafts examinations will take place on 6 April.

Accounting exam will be held on 8 April, Higher Mathematics and Science on 11 April, and Biology and Economics on 13 April.

The written examinations will conclude on 15 April with Islam and Moral Education, Hindu Religion and Moral Education, Buddhist Religion and Moral Education, and Christian Religion and Moral Education.

For practical examinations, all relevant tests, including Music, will have to be completed at the respective centres by 22 April.

Practical examination marks must be entered online, while answer scripts, mark sheets and other documents must be submitted as instructed by the respective board's examination controller.

For the Music practical examination, candidates must arrive at the centre by 9:30am with their admit and registration cards, musical instruments, tabla player, and an identifying teacher.

Candidates must collect their admit cards from the heads of their respective institutions at least seven days before the examinations begin.

Candidates must correctly fill in their roll number, registration number and subject code on the OMR form of the answer script. The answer script must not be folded.

Candidates must pass separately in the creative/written, multiple-choice, and practical sections.

Candidates will be allowed to use calculators approved by the education boards. However, no person other than the centre secretary, including candidates, will be allowed to bring or use mobile phones at exam centres.

For Physical Education, Health Science and Sports, and Career Education, marks for continuous assessment will be provided by the respective institutions to the examination centres. The centres will submit these marks online to the board's website along with the practical examination marks.

Candidates seeking result re-scrutiny must apply online within seven days of the publication of the results. Details of the application process, dates, and deadlines will be announced later through notices in daily newspapers and on the education boards' websites.
