Each UNO to get jeep worth Tk94 lakh

The government is going to purchase 50 jeeps for Tk47 crore for upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs). Each of the Pajero Sport QX Jeep will cost Tk94 lakh.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the proposal of purchasing jeeps at a meeting chaired by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday.
Kamal said that the jeeps will be bought from Pragati Industries Ltd through the direct procurement method.

The upazila nirbahi officers have been using jeeps for their official activities since fiscal year 2006-07.
Thursday's meeting approved 12 proposals worth nearly Tk3,619 crore.
The minister also supported the central bank's move to appoint board members and top officials in private banks after interviewing them.
