Deadline for primary Hajj registration set for 12 Oct won’t be extended: Ministry
Hajj is expected to take place in the last week of May, subject to the sighting of the moon

The government will not extend the 12 October deadline for preliminary Hajj registration for next year.
The deadline will not be extended, as it is in line with the timeline set by the Saudi government, the Ministry of Religious Affairs conveyed in a letter to the chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on 4 September.
The letter asked all mobile operators to send a free SMS to Muslim mobile phone users to widely publicise the message.
Preliminary registration began on 27 July with a deposit of Tk4 lakh. The remaining amount must be paid after the Hajj package is officially announced.
According to a 10 August notification by the ministry, a total of 1,27,198 Bangladeshi pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj in 2026, under both government and private arrangements.
Hajj is expected to take place in the last week of May, subject to the sighting of the moon.
